There were lots of exciting adventures that we took such as a trek to Bob Marley’s grave site, we did Duns River Falls and The Luminous Lagoon.

My gorgeous sister-in-law Melanie and her husband Steven (Sean’s brother) also got married in Jamaica and it was a beautiful ceremony.  She looked radiant, she was really beaming! Thy had planned the marriage/trip first and because we were already going and also already engaged we thought hey let’s get married too! We are very lucky that they were completely on board with that idea and away we went.

Lots and lots has happened since then, trying to post more. Ethan’s almost finished his first year of school. He’s riding a gas-powered quad now! Summer is here. I am going to a bridesmaid in my good friends wedding her name is Nicole and I love, respect and admire her. She is a strong woman in recovery and whom I have come to love and respect! This is a  pic. of her and her soon to be husband D’arcy.

Christmas was wonderful, we stayed at Sean’s brother and sister in law’s house, we had a great time, Tatum and Ethan had a great time together, opening presents,  eating, and playing. We then procedded to papa Al’s  (Sean’s dads). The next day we had dinner with my side of the family and it was also fun and Ethan got to open yet more presents.

Ethans 4th birthday was February 15th.

We no longer co-sleep with ethan..he’s in his own bed well most of the time.

Sean and I both celebrated birthdays in Octoner, the 1st for him and the 22nd for me.

We registered Ethan for school and he will be starting September at St. Mary’s secondary School in Grafton. I am both excited and nervous!

Sean is currently stay at home dad.

I am still working the same job I have been for the last 6 years doing technical support for an internet service provider in the United States.

We are also thinking about moving..could really use a change and I currently drive 25 minutes to and from work each day, later tonight I will doing an update via pictures!

So we had our vacation at the KOA in Brighton. We had a fabulous time and I would highly recommend  it to anyone going on vacation with children.

The first we were on our own, we had everything all packed up and headed out to set up. When we got there the first thing we did was check out our new digs for four days. The cabin was small and oh so cute, it was a one room cabin. It had two little windows with cute little curtain, a large double bed and a set of bunk beds. The furniture was all designed to look like logs so it really was rustic and made you feel like you were really in a little cabin in the woos. The front of the cabin was where the door was and that led to a nice size deck that was covered in case of rain with a sweet porch swing that easily fit all three of us. We were also provided with a grill for open cooking for the fire and also a hibachi (a make-shift bar-b-q.) There was also a line to hang our clothes.  All in all we very impressed.

After we set everything up we had dinner and went to bed kinda early so that we could get up early and explore the surroundings.

We woke up pretty early the next day and had breakfast and then we went to the little park for the kids with Ethan and also took a walk down some of the nature trails and also the dog walk. Both trails were very scenic and peaceful, Ethan really enjoyed having all the space to run;  jump and play!

The rest of my family arrived at 1:00pm a little late for check in we all thought, but still fine. After they set up Sean’s brother Steve; his fiance Mel, and their daughter Tatum arrived and afer they set up we decided to take them swimming. The pool was great, it was big and very warm! The kids had so much fun in the pool and I have to admit I had a blast too, My mom and sister joined us in the pool and we swam for a couple of hours. I also had the luxury of hitting up the hot tub, that was truly fabulous. We hit the park again and then after a visit to my families camp site we went back to our cabin to have dinner. Steve and his family set up their tent on our cabin’s property and we decided that the kids would sleep together in the cabin with us. Worked out quite well.

Dinner was very yummy…their was a lot of eating going on. We then rented some badminton sets and we decided to have some team matches of volley ball and badminton, that was really fun! We then took the kids on a nature  walk to find some bears (they were all about bear hunting) lol.  At one point we took the kids on a “night walk” and we did not know it but my two sisters Michelle and Renee were hiding up ahead and planned to jump out and scare the kids. Ha, I jumped higher than either kid ’cause it scared the pants out of me. Needless to say that promptly ended the night walk as the kids were way too scared to continue hunting for bears. We headed back had a snack and tucked in the kids.

Our evenings were spent listening to music, chatting, laughing, eating and drinking and telling stories, I really was enjoying Mel and Steve’s company.

The kids woke up early the next day, we had breakfast hit the park and went swimming again. The pool was even warmer than the day before and I loved it! We took lots of pictures which I will be sure to post! My family had a blast and they said they would definitely be back.

Later in the day my best friend Amy’s dad stopped by and asked if we wanted to take our Godson Dal for the night! That made me super excited as I had not seen  the kids in a while and missed them terribly so we picked him up shortly after and then we took all of the kids swimming again and my sister and mom came swimming with us too, we had a blast swimming the pool remaining very warm, as someone found the thermostat lol! I hit the hot tub again and then we went to make our last big meal at the cabin, followed by a free ice cream social and final trip to the park with the three kids.

The next day was clean up/pack up/get home in time to work day! That was a little stressful and I will ensure that I am not scheduled to work the of check out again on my further vacations.

I am really glad we did it, the kids had fun, we got to spend valuable time with our families nd each other and hopefully started a little family tradition that includes the whole family.

I had a best friend in the whole world. Her name was Amy Morton and I loved her like a sister. She understood me better than any other person I have ever met in my life and I understood her.

We were bound through very serious and very personal struggles. We both mothers went through the joys,  frustrations, dilemmas, and determination of being parents. Together we got clean; got dirty and got clean again. We kept in touch through letters and telephone calls when we were at various rehabilitation centerss. We cheered each other on when we were really making it. We cried with each other when we gave birth to our beautiful babies. We cried when we thought her first son had autism and then again when we found out he didn’t. I cried when she made me the Godmother of her little ones and she cried when she thought I’d replaced her with my sister as the Godmother of my only son. (Long story, after tears and a better understanding that got worked out and Amy was made my son’s official Godmother)

When I moved to our little town of Colborne Amy was the best part, I got to have play dates all the time with my best friend and our kids soon became great friends. We celebrated birthdays, Christmas, and every other season because Amy would never ever forget to include any of her friends and family on any occasion and a gift was always waiting. My son and I would walk down our apartment steps and there would always be a little gift for Ethan; something small but that she knew he would love sitting there waiting to Brighton his little day. She was truly selfless, she touched more people than I could dream of touching in a lifetime!

A couple of months ago Amy was on her way to pick up her son, Dal and then stop at my house to meet up with my husband who has been friends with her for a lifetime when she hit a huge tractor, Amy passed away after  a short battle to save her life. I miss you Amy every day of my life, I think of you more than I ever thought I could think about anything. I would give anything to just be able to give you one more hug like the one I gave you the day before you passed when life was simple, you know- you go to the park with your kids and mine and I go to work…and I’ll call ya tomorrow, but tomorrow never came and it never will.  The pain will never go away, I know that and it hurts, Amers I love you.

On a scarier not, today grandfather went in to have surgery. he was diagnosed with lung cancer not that long ago and the surgery is to remove the lobes that the cancer attaches itself to. I will be calling today a little later to make sure that everything went well, I am also making a concious effort to pray…and pray I will and have. I love my granfather, he is a great man. He is kind and warm and loving, he’s a papa and everything that you would expect a papa to be! I just hope that we get to spend much more tme with him, and that my son can get to know my papa like we all do.
